Step 1

Complete your South Carolina 30hr Professional Bail Bondsman, Surety Bail Bondsman, and Runner pre-licensing course:

Step 2

Register for the state mandated InsSC-BB16: SC Professional Bail Bondsman/Runner

• $59 per scheduled test
• YOU MUST BRING COPY OF DL, AND CLASS COMPLETION CERTIFICATE THE DAY OF TESTING

Step 3

Complete your Property, Casualty, Surety & Marine Insurance Producer course 

• Instant Access Course (Self-Paced)
  • Basic course: $150
  • Enhanced Course: $250
• Live instruction-$375
• If self-study materials have been purchased, returning to class will only be the course difference of $225

Step 4
Register for the state mandated InsSC-PCSM04: SC Producer Property, Casualty, Surety & Marine Insurance

• Register at https://home.pearsonvue.com/sc/insurance 
• $59 per scheduled test
• YOU MUST BRING COPY OF DL

Step 5

Register for fingerprinting

• Register at https://www.identogo.com/contact
• $50.75 for fingerprinting cost
• This includes your SLED and FBI background check
• Keep receipt it must be mailed into the SCDOI with your application

Step 6

Have a passport size photograph taken

• This can be done at most CVS/Walgreens locations

Step 7

Apply for your South Carolina surety insurance producer license

• Complete your application for licensure at www.NIPR.com        
• Email a copy of your Identogo fingerprint receipt ([email protected])
• $25 Licensing Fee

Step 8

Once you receive your Limited Line producer license you may apply for your surety bondsman license.

• Complete your application for licensure at www.NIPR.com        
• Email the following to [email protected]
  • A copy of your 30hr class completion certificate
  • A copy of your passing Pearson Vue test score
  • A copy of your fingerprinting receipt
  • A passport size photograph

Step 9

Wait on the SCDOI to process your application, you will receive confirmation of your acceptance or denial to the address you have provided!
